Honoring Fire, Honoring Water
Winter is the time to tend to our vitality- that spark of Yang fire energy within us- by preserving it, and thus not letting it burn out. In other words, by not burning the candle at both ends, which may mean simplifying our holiday to do list. In winter we revitalize deeply, and we do this by allowing ourselves to have a sacred pause. A long winter's nap. A curling up in the cave, like the bear. Would a bear be as powerful an animal as it is if it did not hibernate?
Winter Musings
A lyrical exploration of winter’s Water element and its deep wisdom. This piece weaves poetry with Chinese Medicine teachings, inviting us to slow down, rest, simplify, and drop into the quiet, restorative depth of the season.
